School Area Goals
Teaching and Learning/Continuous Improvement:
This year our teachers continued meeting twice weekly as Professional Learning Communities. During their meetings, teams analyzed student data, created common assessments, and tracked student progress. Teachers received support and coaching from our school instructional leaders to help build upon teaching strategies and techniques. Additionally, our school continues to work on monitoring and adjusting our Strategic Plan. We are pleased to report that our goal of closing the gap between male and female readers was met, with 84% of our male students meeting or exceeding proficiency on SC Ready. Another part of our strategic plan is to highlight the continuation of Ci3T- Comprehensive Integrated 3-Tier Model of Prevention. Through Ci3T, our school has continued to monitor and adjust our school-wide expectations for academics, behavior, and social-emotional learning.
Leadership and Communication:
Newsletters are sent each week to parents and staff. The parent newsletter shares important information such as school events, highlights of student achievements, and PTO news. The staff newsletter shares instructional strategies and tips, communicates pertinent information, and provides staff shout-outs. We've also committed to utilizing our social media pages to help disseminate information. Additionally, Finalsite messaging helps to communicate more urgent information through message blasts, either through a phone call or a text message.
Resources, Safety, and Student Support:
We strive to maintain a 95% satisfaction rating on our social and physical environment from students, parents, and teachers. Some ways we keep our rating include having a full-time security officer, training teachers on the continued need for student support in social and emotional needs, and sharing monthly safety newsletters with staff. We also receive input regarding resources and safety from our staff and students through observations and school-initiated surveys.
Purpose of the Report
This Report is issued by Doby’s Bridge Elementary School Improvement Council in accordance with South Carolina law to share information on the school’s progress in meeting various goals and objectives, the work of the SIC, and other accomplishments during the school year.
